More Reunion photos

Lee Berning shared these photos from the Saturday event.  Here's one of Lee and me:

And George was not tired after his tap dance, so pulled off a Fox Trot with several ladies:

First up to tell her life story:

George Hinkle's Superbowl of Reunions

Those of you who missed George's shindig last Saturday afternoon, September 14, missed a great party.  Our class had a great turnout, 11 of us:  Pat Long Amadeo, Lee Berning, Carolyn Carlin Flynn, Al Figone with wife Jen, Rose Lyon, Jean Nix Davis with husband Bob, Jan Toole Bacigalupi, Peggy Sorensen Long with husband Bob, Arthur Gamon, Carol Whitney Rose, and yours truly.  In addition, there were several from other Jeff classes, and from Westmoor '58, and Terra Nova.  Rose flew in that
morning from Colorado, Pat had driven to the area earlier from Colorado and picked her up at the airport.  Arthur Gamon drove down from Oroville; he had not made it to any of our recent lunches on the Peninsula.  This was also the first event for Carolyn Carlin Flynn, as I had only managed to locate her a few years ago.  It was great to see them both.  Lee Berning would have been in the doghouse if he had not attended, as he lives only 3 blocks from George.  We were sorry not to see more classmates from closer to Davis who cannot make it to our Peninsula lunches.

George provided lunch, after which classmates were gabbing so much, that we put our tables together and sat in a big circle.  The better to see George put on another tap dance show, for at least 20 minutes.  We were breathless at some of the numbers which had a very fast tempo.  Once again he put us to shame with his energy.  Then George put us on the spot, asking us to go around the room and tell what we have been doing since high school.  Wow!  This was fun and so inspiring.  Few of us had a life plan at that time, or, if we did, it certainly changed as we went along.  How we rose to challenges and met setbacks!  There were 3 doctorates (!) in our class (out of the 11 there), and none had ever thought they would pursue one.  Several had been married more than 50 years, and if this were a second marriage, more than 20 years.  Many amusing stories as to how one met the second spouse.  Loud applause as each of us finished our story, and often during the story.  It did have the feeling of my perception of an AA meeting.  I think we all felt even closer to each other when we left.

Being a distracted photographer, I did not get photos of Carolyn Carlin Flynn or Carol Whitney Rose.  Please feel free to post any photos you have of people I missed.
